Volunteer members are critical resources in helping associations achieve their missions and serve their members.  They devote time, energy, and expertise to move their organizations and professions forward.   According to the ASAE Foundation’s 2015 study Mutually Beneficial Volunteerism, volunteer hours make up 20–25 percent of an association’s total work hours (staff plus volunteers), averaging 67 hours per year per volunteer.
