John Ruffin, CAE

Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer, John Ruffin is responsible for providing leadership and direction to sustain AMR's growth and develop long-term strategic goals for the company. Before John and Shirley Ruffin purchased the company in 1997, John worked in private industry for three years as senior vice president of government services for a national technology consulting firm and served 22 years with the Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services in management and executive positions.

John has been president of three associations and served on many boards and executive committees. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) where he serves on the Key AMC Committee.

John earned his certified association executive (CAE) credential in January 2006 and subsequent recertification. John is also a member of the AMC Institute, where he served on the board for over six years, was president from 2005-2007 and continues to serve on several task forces.

He led AMR to earn charter accreditation from the AMC Institute in 2002 and subsequent reaccreditations. Accreditation is based on meeting the Standard of Good Practice for Association Management Companies adopted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Nick Ruffin, CAE

President & COO

As the President and Chief Operating Officer, Nick provides leadership and oversight of all AMR operations and client services teams. Nick works with these teams to ensure AMR provides high quality and timely services in accordance with the ANSI Standard of Good Practices for the Association Management Industry.

Nick is also responsible for leading client transitions, and supports John in building and maintaining strong relationships with our client partners to ensure expectations are being met, and exceeded. Nick holds a bachelor's degree in Business and Economics from Mississippi State University, is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), a member of Vistage International, and earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential in 2011. Nick currently serves on the Board of the AMC Institute, the trade association for Association Management Companies.

Shirley Ruffin

Executive Vice President 

As Executive Vice President and co-owner of AMR Management Services with husband John Ruffin, Shirley is involved in all facets of the company. She has a degree in technology and a professional background in the financial and technology industries.

Shirley serves as the Executive Leadership Team’s internal consultant to ensure client satisfaction is exceeded, strategic focus and long-term sustainable success is achieved while driving results through a collaborative team approach. Prior to AMR, Shirley was an insurance coordinator and payroll assistant for a technology consulting company in Memphis, Tenn., and a financial secretary at a large church in Jackson, Miss.

Shirley is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the AMC Institute. 
Scott Dick, CPA, CAE

Senior Vice President, Finance and Operations

Scott leads and directs the shared services teams including finance, member records, conferences and events and technology services. In addition, he is responsible for the overall fiscal stewardship of AMR and its clients. Scott has held various roles during his more than eight years at AMR. His primary responsibilities have been to provide knowledge of association and business accounting practices, internal controls, investment policy management, audit and tax compliance, financial reporting and overall business management expertise.

Scott’s previous work experience has included positions with two local public accounting firms, Controller of Hornsby Oil, Inc., and as an accountant at Kentucky Utilities Company.

Scott is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a member of Vistage Key Executives Program International, the American Institute and Kentucky Society of CPA’s, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and an active member of the AMC Institute’s Benchmarking Task Force. He earned the Certified Association Executive credential from ASAE in 2013. 


Tracy Tucker

Vice President, Association Management

Tracy TuckerTracy has more than 12 years of experience in association and non-profit management, as well as experience in the benefits area of a for-profit corporation (Fazolis).

Tracy joined AMR in 2000 as a project coordinator. Since then she has served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility. Currently, she serves as Executive Director for the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA), where she is responsible for all aspects of association management, including board and committee support, financial management, conference and meeting management, publications, website, communications and public relations, membership growth and services, industry membership services and coordination, government relations, grant development and coordination, sponsorship, and fund raising.

In addition, Tracy serves as Vice President of Association Management for AMR. She provides oversight and serves as a mentor to many of AMR's Account Executives. She helps ensure AMR meets and exceeds its clients' expectations. Tracy earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
