AMR owners John and Shirley Ruffin understand how to take the ideas of an organization and turn them into reality through a professional headquarters presence and an intelligent, empowered staff. 

The Ruffins recognize the correlation between excellence, integrity, accountability, dedication, respect and successful associations and nonprofit organizations. And they brought those values to AMR Management Services. 
Accreditation
AMC Institute Charter Accredited AMR was one of the first association management companies to receive accreditation from the AMC Institute and is one of only 19 AMCs in the world to receive the prestigious "Charter Accredited" designation. Accreditation is based on an ANSI standard and AMR remains one of fewer than 70 accredited AMCs. Accreditation ensures we meet generally accepted industry standards for best practices.

In other words, we deliver consistent, knowledgeable and thorough service to the association clients we serve.

Beyond company pride and industry recognition garnered through accreditation, our clients gain additional assurance we will provide sound stewardship. AMR's accreditation has been re-certified twice in 2006 and 2010 by an independent review.
Locations
AMR Management Services is headquartered in Lexington, Ky. This centrally located city is known for its diverse economy, strong workforce, quality educational system, great healthcare and a wide range of higher education options. Lexington has also been consistently recognized by Forbes as one of the top five best places for career and business. 

AMR has satellite offices in Chesterfield, Mo., and Washington, D.C., as well as remote employees in Florida, Ohio and Kansas. 
Growth
Founded as The Spieler Group in 1994, the Ruffins purchased the Lexington, Ky., association management company in 1997 and renamed it AMR Management Services. Since then, the company has grown from 12 to 65 employees and is now one of the 10 largest association management companies in the United States in terms of employees and revenue. 

In 2011, AMR acquired Drake & Company, an AMC Institute accredited association management firm based in suburban St. Louis. Through the acquisition of Drake & Company and integration of its award-winning staff, AMR grew its staff and client roster while significantly expanding its capabilities in public relations, content management and cause marketing.
